Reflection
Description - The was to cut flat pieces of gray or red clay into slabs and assemble them into a slab form. The skills were to sculpt flat slabs, and develop surface design into a cohesive arrangement that follows the sculpture, for example, moving flat surfaces and molding them into cohesive designs like fish and mermaids.
Analysis - The key element of art is probably line, there was hundreds of little lines inspired by the ocean. This is important for the piece because it created a story within the walls of my pitcher, for example, the mermaid' tail sorta flows into the fish and waves, because she is a creature of the sea.
Interpretation - The story was story of my pitcher was as described before, as under the sea. The purpose was to explore slab artwork and pass my class, for example, i explored the use of flat slabs and perfectly smooth surfaces and created a working 3 dimensional pitcher with a working handle and spout.
Evaluation - I think the designs were kinda successful but i don't really like any part of my project. It was pretty sloppy and the glaze looks bad. I could've taken more time to perfect my pitcher and make it cleaner, for example, instead of like sticking together the walls I could've crafted them together carefully and neatly, this would've made my project less sloppy.
